YSRCP sounds poll bugle as Jagan completes Padayatra

YSR Congress Chief and Opposition Leader Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy today completed his Padayatra which culminated into a massive public meeting at Ichapuram in Srikakulam district. Through the Praja Sankalpa Yatra which started off on November 6th, 2017 at his home town of Idupulapaya in Kadapa district, Jagan covered 3,648  kilometres to cover 134 constituencies in all the 13 districts of the state in 341 days.

According to YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) leaders, Jagan met nearly 2 crore people from all walks of life during his Padayatra across the state. The Padayatra is also said to have made Jagan and his party cadre more confident of winning people’s mandate in the upcoming Assembly Elections in the State.

In all his Praja Sankalpa Yatras, the Opposition Leader has been successfully communicating the party’s manifesto and how they could make a difference if they win the elections. According to the party cadre, the narrative of the YSRCP in showing the government failures also has struck a chord with the people.

Meanwhile, Jagan will unveil a 3-storeyed stupa to mark the success of his Praja Sankalpa Yatra. The stupa in itself is set to be a huge attraction for visitors. The stupa which is 88-metres tall will have a display of Padayatra’s photos on the first floor while the second floor is allocated for a picture of Jagan with his father YS Rajasekhar Reddy and the third floor will have the party flag which will be hoisted by Jagan.

Political observers say that Padayatras have brought politicians to power in Andhra Pradesh. Interestingly, Jagan’s father YSR who started off Padayatra culture came to power in 2004 after defeating Chandrababu Naidu. And, Chandrababu came to power in 2014 and became the CM of divided state of AP after his Padayatra.

The YSRCP Chief is also said to sound the poll bugle from the public meeting at Ichapuram.
