YSR Opposed Bifurcation of AP. Will that impact Sharmila’s chances in Telangana?

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy’s sister, Y.S. Sharmila Reddy, left political circles abuzz when she held meetings with her late father’s sympathisers in Hyderabad two days ago. Her meeting triggered speculation that she might take the political plunge in Telangana independent of her brother’s party.
Talking to reporters in Hyderabad, she said that she met with people and representatives of Nalgonda District. She said that her discussion with the people about the governance in Telangana has made it very clear that the state needs a change.
She hinted that she might float a new political outfit independent of his brother’s Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP or YCP). Responding to the questions on her relations with her brother Jagan, she said: “My brother is doing his job as the Chief Minister of AP. Let me do my job in Telangana,” hinting at her big political dreams.
Speculation is rife that she may contest from Chevella which has a huge fan following for her father later Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy. “Chevella Chellamma” is a tag that is being thrown around as a reference for her political entry.
Rumours suggest that she will target two specific communities in Telangana. The Reddys and the SC Christians. The latter because of her Christian faith and her husband, Brother Anil, who is a much sought-after evangelist in these parts.
But, it won’t be easy for her in Telangana as YSR was known to be opposed to the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh and that is bound to limit Sharmila's appeal in Telangana.
