Jana Sena & BSP to fight it out together in AP, Telangana

The Jana Sena Party (JSP) forged an alliance with Mayawati-led Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) for the upcoming general and Assembly elections in AP and Telangana. Jana Sena Party chief and actor-turned-politician K. Pawan Kalyan met BSP supremo Mayawati in Lucknow announced that they have also finalised the issue of seat sharing for polls in both the Telugu states.
Pawan Kalyan met BSP leaders before the Telangana state elections were held and there were reports that both the parties would form an alliance. The JSP is already having a tie-up with the Left parties in AP.
Addressing mediapersons, Pawan Kalyan said he wishes to see Behen ji (Mayawati) as the Prime Minister. The BSP chief said that she wanted Pawan Kalyan to become the next CM of Andhra Pradesh. Mayawati would visit AP and Telangana in April, when she would be holding public meetings.
A couple of days ago, the JSP released its first list of candidates with 4 MP candidates and 32 MLA nominees for Andhra Pradesh. Assembly tickets were given to Nadendla Manohar, former Speaker of  United Andhra and Ravela Kishore Babu, a Dalit who quit the TD alleging caste discrimination.
Now, the JSP-BSP-Left alliance says it will field candidates for all the 175 Assembly and 25 MP seats in the state. There are unconfirmed reports suggesting that Pawan Kalyan would contest from the Gajuwaka constituency in Visakhapatnam.
During 2014 polls, Kalyan supported the TDP-BJP alliance and campaigned for their victory. However, Kalyan withdrew support to the Telugu Desam after 2014, when the BJP-led government refused to accord special category status to AP. Instead, the Centre sanctioned special package to AP.
Nizamabad caretaker MP Kalvakuntla Kavitha dubbed the JSP-BSP alliance as opportunistic. “The tie-up has been agreed in the last minute only for the upcoming elections. It is a political stunt. There is no similarity in their policies. Kalyan did not speak about any Dalit issues.” Kavitha also alleged that Pawan Kalyan has a secret pact with the TDP.
