National Leaders make a beeline to be part of AP CM’s poll campaign

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has called upon the voters to think wisely and cast their vote in favour of the TDP, both in the state and in the Lok Sabha polls. “Development in Andhra Pradesh will continue only if TD chief N. Chandrababu Naidu is re-elected,” he said.

At the same time, Kejriwal requested the people to defeat Narendra Modi at the Centre. He also cautioned the people not to vote to the YSR Congress as casting vote to that party means voting for the BJP. Kejriwal took part in poll campaigning, along with AP Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, in Krishna district. He said that a vote to the TDP will give them a stable government and efficient governance under the leadership of Naidu.

At the Centre, voting for the TDP will result in good representation of the state.  It is like two birds for one shot, he said. “If the TD gets 25 MP seats, he will be able to influence decisions being taken in the Parliament and get the support needed for AP from the Centre,” he explained.

Commenting on Modi, Kejriwal said he was not taking the nation forward but backward.  Moreover, the Modi-led NDA government is resorting to division politics on the lines of caste, religion and region, he said. Kejriwal heaped praises on Naidu and said that he was keeping the economy of AP on track, despite very little help from the Centre.

Accepting that AP has not received the benefits assured in the AP Reorganisation Act-2014, he said Naidu handled the situation properly and put AP on the development path. He said that the welfare schemes being implemented by the TD government reflect the all-round development aimed by Naidu.

The TDP government is working for the welfare of farmers, old-aged people and all other sections of the society, he said and added that Naidu was having the support of all non-BJP leaders in the nation.

National leaders, including West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee, former Union minister Arun Shourie, Yashwant Sinha and others would campaign in favour of the TDP in the state. Already National Conference president and J&K former CM Farooq Abdullah had campaigned in the state. He addressed voters in Allagadda, Nandyal, Kurnool and Kadapa constituencies.

The other prominent leaders to campaign in favour of the TD include RJD chief Tejaswi Yadav and former Prime Minister H.D. Deve Gowda and Sharad Pawar. Mamata Banerjee is set to campaign in Vizag on March 31.
