Naidu campaigns for Deve Gowda’s grandson in Mandya

Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh CMinister N. Chandrababu Naidu said that the democracy was in danger and stressed the need to save the nation. He said that southern states like AP and Karnataka had suffered under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s regime in the past five years, despite paying taxes.
Naidu was campaigning for JD(S) supremo H.D. Deve Gowda’s grandson Nikhil in Mandya Lok Sabha constituency, Karnataka. Last week, Gowda campaigned for the TDP  in Andhra Pradesh. Naidu, speaking in a mix of Kannada, Telugu and English alleged that the BJP has been misusing the ECI and other constitutionally formed institutions and stressed the need to verify ballot slips on the Voter-Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) after counting of votes.
Naidu also alleged that PM Modi, BJP president Amit Shah and their party had misused the RBI, CBI and income tax departments.
“The EVMs are vulnerable to manipulation and so, the Opposition parties are demanding verification of 50 per cent of the ballot slips of VVPATs after the counting process is done but the EC is not accepting to it,” he said.
The TDP supremo lauded Gowda for his concern over the problems being faced by the farmers and his knowledge of the irrigation sector. He went on to say that Gowda is the only leader after M. Visveswarayya in Karnataka who has in-depth knowledge on the irrigation sector.
