Re-polling at 5 centres in AP

The Election Commission declared that re-polling would be held in five centres in the state, which include one in Prakasam district and two each in Nellore and Guntur districts.
The voters could not exercise their franchise due to technical glitches in the electronic voting machines (EVMs) or due to violence, according to reports from the district collectors to the chief electoral officer G.K. Dwivedi.
The ruling Telugu Desam Party and opposition YSR Congress Party activists clashed with each other at many places in the state on the polling with elections being considered prestigiously by both the parties.
The EVMs too troubled the polling staff and voters at many places, leading to delay of 4-8 hours in polling which crept beyond midnight in some places.
