Women support swells for Chandrababu Naidu

Women from various sections of the society came together to campaign for Telugu Desam Party under the banner Nara kosam-Nari Lokam (women for Nara). Nara Bhuvameswari, wife of TDP supremo and Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, attended the programme and encouraged them to vote for the party.

Jogulamba, a woman entrepreneur,  held talks with K.C. Chekuri, who had been campaigning for the TDP with a theme “Malli Nuvve Ravali”. This campaign has also been gaining a lot of traction on social media. The women walked to the Durga temple atop Indrakeeladri and offered special puja seeking TDP’s victory. Jogulamba’s daughter and popular pop singer Smitha made a short film urging the voters to vote for development of AP.

Smitha’s daughter Shivi, who was named as Andhra in the film, stole the show. The film went viral on social media in which Shivi says, “My name is Andhra and my age is five years.”  She depicted the state of Andhra Pradesh as a five-year-old girl.

An industrialist, Vijaysri Gupta, stressed the need to re-elect Naidu as Andhra Pradesh needed a bold and courageous leader like him to make it tread on the path of development, at a time when the Centre has not been cooperating with regard to sanction of funds for various development works.
