AP & Telangana sizzle at 46 degrees

Mercury-level is hovering around 46 degree Celsius in both the Telugu states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. The severe cyclonic storm Fani had reduced the moisture content in the atmosphere intensifying the heat wave in both the states, IMD officials said.
The temperatures in Khammam, Karimnagar, Peddapalli, Mahabubabad and  Jagtial are touching 45-46 degree Celsius and the Met officials warned of heat wave like conditions in Telangana till May 10. Further, the mercury-level is expected to touch 47-48 degree Celsius in the coming days.
In AP, the capital region is already facing the brunt of the sweltering heat with Pedakurapadu in Guntur district registering 46.68 degree Celsius on Wednesday. According to the AP State Development Planning Society (APSDPS), six places in the state had experienced temperatures between 46-47 degree Celsius.
With the diurnal temperatures increasing every day, people are being advised stay indoors and protect themselves from the heatwave. Burning of garbage in the open is one of the major reasons for the increasing temperatures in summer every year.
