AP Inter Board gives out exam schedules, guidelines

The Board of Intermediate Education (BIE) Andhra Pradesh has announced that the exams for 2nd years Intermediate students will be held in June. Additionally, the Board has also announced the set of guidelines holding the examination which include mandatory use of face masks.

The notification mentions that the exams for Modern Language II, and Geography II for second year intermediate students will be held on June 3.

According to reports from various sections of the media, the exams were originally scheduled for March 23rd. They were however postponed due to continuous lockdowns. The examination will be held in the same centres allotted earlier and with the same hall ticket, the Board’s statement informed. 

Meanwhile, all principals have been asked to inform students to reach their respective centres at 9 am on the day of the examination. Students are supposed to wear face masks and maintain social distancing. “Use of a tissue or handkerchief while coughing or sneezing is mandatory while they will have to bring their own hand sanitizers,” the statement said. 

The guidelines mention that the College Superintendents or authorities have to ensure that no crowd gathers while checking hall tickets before allowing students to enter the exam centre. They have also been directed to stock up on face masks and hand sanitisers for staff and students who may run out of them. 

“A minimum distance of 6 feet needs to be there between each desk while the examination hall need to be sanitised before and after the exam,” mentioned the statement as a direction for the chief superintendent. 

The BIE’s decision is a welcome move while every students needs to be educated and aware of the preventive measures they need to take in these times of physical distancing.
