COVID-19: Senior politician Sabbam Hari passes away

In a depressing news amidst a raging pandemic, senior political leader and former MP from united AP, Sabbam Hari, has passed away in Visakhapatnam following health complications after he contracted the COVID-19 infection a few days ago. He was admitted to a private hospital in Vizag and was critical for a few days before he breathed his last.
Hari, 69, began his political career with the Congress party. Born on June 1st 1952 in Tagarapuvalasa near Vizag, he worked as Visakha Youth Congress leader in 1985 and was elected as the Visakhapatnam Mayor in 1995.
He contested for Parliament in 2009 on a Congress ticket and  stood victorious from Anakapalli Constituency in united Andhra Pradesh. Later, he joined TDP in 2019 and contested for Assembly from the Bheemili constituency.
Of late, he had also become a crucial voice for the Telugu Desam Party, speaking against vendetta politics of the current Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy-led government. As someone who practised value-based politics, his death will remain one of the biggest losses for AP in the current political generation.
