Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu inaugurated AP MedTech Zone

The Andhra Pradesh MedTech Zone (AMTZ) is India's first manufacturing hub for medical devices. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu  inaugurated the India’s first exclusive medical device manufacturing park - Andhra Pradesh MedTech Zone (AMTZ) at Nadupur village of Pedda Gantyada Mandal in Vishakhapatnam on Thursday Dec 13th 2018.

Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu speaking at the inaugural session approximately 80% of the medical devices in the country were imported from foreign countries and most of them could be manufactured at the Medtech Zone in Visakhapatnam.
Andhra Pradesh MedTech Zone Limited (popularly known as AMTZ) is an enterprise under the Government of Andhra Pradesh, a 270 Acre zone, dedicated for Medical Device Manufacturing. The objective behind this ‘One-Stop- Solution’ is not only to reduce the cost of manufacturing up to 40% or to just simplify the end-to-end operations but also to reduce the import dependency, which is presently around 75%.

This is said to be the first of its kind facility in the country. The AMTZ is spread over 270 acres and will provide jobs to about 25,000 people. It will serve as the hub for companies involved in the manufacture of medical devices.

Chandra Babu Naidu also said research and development, 3D designing and testing centers will also come up in the AP Med Tech Zone, Visakhapatnam.

This will give a big boost to the medical device manufacturing industry and create thousands of jobs in the healthcare domain and helps Andhra Pradesh economy in a big way he added.
