Chandrababu Naidu Urges Farmers to Overcome El Nino Challenges Ahead of Kharif Season
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu urges farmers to overcome El Nino challenges the a climate phenomenon that disrupts normal rainfall patterns. Greeting farmers on the occasion of Eruvaka Pournami, he urged them to follow government advisories and adopt sustainable farming practices for a successful Kharif season.

The Chief Minister greeted farmers on the occasion of Eruvaka Pournami, which marks the beginning of the new farming season. Agriculture Minister K. Atchannaidu also encouraged farmers to face the El Nino phenomenon with confidence.
In his message, the Chief Minister noted that on Jyeshtha Shuddha Pournami, farmers perform the Eruvaka ritual, worshipping the land and livestock while embracing harmony with nature.
“I pray that the homes of farmers be filled with the light of bountiful harvests. We, born on the soil that reveres nature, uphold those traditions. Let us nurture crops through natural farming, safeguarding our land and our health from toxicity,” he said.
Government Assures Support for Kharif Season
The Chief Minister stated that the coalition government will continue taking proactive measures to strengthen the agricultural sector. As part of Annadatha Sukhibhava, the government credited PM Kisan funds to eligible farmers, reaffirming its commitment to farmer welfare.
“I hope that farmers overcome the challenges arising due to El Nino and international conditions. I aspire that farmers, by following government guidelines and expert advice, cultivate and reap success,” Chandrababu Naidu added.
Adequate Fertilizers and Seeds Available for Farmers
Agriculture Minister K. Atchannaidu visited Kanaka Durga Temple in Vijayawada and offered special prayers for abundant rainfall, bumper harvests, and prosperity for the farming community.
The minister said fertilizers and quality seeds required for the Kharif season are available in ample quantities and assured farmers that they need not worry about shortages.
He added that the government has completed all necessary arrangements for Kharif cultivation and will provide every possible assistance to farmers during the season.
Pawan Kalyan Extends Eruvaka Pournami Wishes
Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan also greeted farmers on Eruvaka Pournami, describing it as an agricultural festival celebrating the bond between humanity, nature, Mother Earth, and livestock.
He said it is customary for farmers to worship Mother Earth and begin the new farming season with devotion on the full moon day of Jyeshtha month.
Pawan Kalyan reiterated that the coalition government remains committed to farmer welfare and agricultural development. He noted that the first installment of PM Kisan–Annadatha Sukhibhava assistance has already been credited to farmers’ bank accounts and said the upcoming VB G-Ram G works are being planned to benefit the farming community.
