The Telangana government has transferred ₹7,750.45 crore to nearly 69 lakh farmers under the Rythu Bharosa scheme within seven days
The government of Telangana has deposited Rs 7,750.45 crore in the bank accounts of farmers in seven days under Rythu Bharosa scheme, the investment support scheme for farmers.
Rythu Bharosa scheme benefits nearly 69 lakh farmers
Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao said on Tuesday that the assistance provided under the Rythu Bharosa scheme during the last seven days has benefited 68.96 lakh farmers and covered 129.17 lakh acres of cultivated land.
Under the seventh phase of the scheme on Tuesday, the government credited Rs 259.73 crore into the accounts of farmers cultivating between 7 and 8 acres of land. The minister stated that in this phase, 58,831 farmers received Rythu Bharosa assistance covering 4.32 lakh acres of cultivated land.
Tummala Nageswara Rao said that Rythu Bharosa funds are being released in a phased manner to ensure farmers face no inconvenience.
He noted that while funds had already been released in six phases to farmers owning up to 7 acres, Tuesday’s release covers all farmers owning between 7 and 8 acres.
Telangana government continues phased Rythu Bharosa payments
The minister emphasised that farmer welfare is the state government’s primary objective and affirmed the government’s commitment to ensuring that every eligible farmer receives the Rythu Bharosa benefit.
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy on June 30 launched the disbursement of the Rythu Bharosa amounts to farmers for the ongoing Kharif 2026–27 crop season.
He announced that the government will deposit Rs 9,000 crore in farmers’ bank accounts in nine days under the scheme.
In the first phase, Rs 2,482.02 crore will be credited into the accounts of 41.37 lakh farmers owning up to two acres of land.
Revanth Reddy highlights enhanced Rythu Bharosa assistance
The Chief Minister said that adequate funds have been made available for Rythu Bharosa.
He revealed that the Congress increased the Rythu Bharosa amount from Rs 10,000 to Rs 12,000 per acre annually.
The annual financial assistance is given to farmers in two equal instalments for the Kharif and Rabi crop seasons.
According to the Chief Minister, the Congress government has so far deposited Rs 27,000 crore into farmers’ accounts. “In all, we paid a total of Rs 36,000 crore under Rythu Bharosa, including Rs 7,000 crore released immediately after assuming office,” he said while addressing a meeting of farmers in Hyderabad on June 30.
