4 Districts to witness heavy rains; IMD issues orange alert for AP

Four districts of Andhra Pradesh faced heavy rains on Monday following which the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued an ‘Orange’ alert in Prakasam, Nellore, Chittoor and Kadapa districts. The IMD has also predicted thunderstorms and lightning in these four districts of Andhra Pradesh.

The IMD has also issued an advisory for fishermen not to venture into the sea. Meanwhile, heavy rains lashed many parts of Nellore, Kadapa, Srikalahasti and Chittoor district on Monday morning.

The state government informed that 44 people have lost their lives due to floods caused by the unprecedented rain in the state. However, the actual estimates on loss of human lives, cattle and crop loss are much higher.

According to the IMD, a new low pressure area is likely to form in the Bay of Bengal and could become a cyclonic system later on, affecting Andhra Pradesh, Odisha and West Bengal in the first week of December.

Looks like nature’s fury seems to leave an unending misery, after floods ravaged the state in the last two weeks.
