Brother Anil’s political meetings? Just Noise or People’s Pulse Test for YSRCP?

A few days back Y.S. Sharmila’s husband, Anil, who is famously known as Brother Anil (for his preaching) met ex-MP Undavalli Arun Kumar in Rajahmundry and this meeting was widely discussed back then. Both Brother Anil and Undavalli spoke to the media then and added that it was just a casual meeting and had no  political significance.

But, what happened later, raised a lot of eyebrows! Brother Anil held a meeting recently in Vijayawada with many leaders from various caste-based communities. In this meeting, leaders expressed their deep disappointment in the YSRCP government and how they were with the Jagan-led governance in the state. Apparently, Anil was all ears to the strategies required for the YSRCP government’s course correction.

Interestingly, one of the BC Leaders who met Brother Anil, revealed that they have been meeting the preacher multiple times in the past and even before 2019 elections, but promises, apparently have not been met. “Our lives remain unchanged and the promises still are not kept,” the BC leader lamented.

The BC leader, in fact, added that the previous TDP government at least allowed us to protest on our issues but in this government, we are being arrested even before addressing our concerns, pointing fingers at the fascist approach of the Jagan government.

While there is speculation that Brother Anil may have his own plan to enter politics, most people believe it could be Sharmila who is testing water to enter AP Politics. However, going by what political analysts are saying, it is clear that Anil is trying to crystallise Christian and other communities’ vote bank for YSRCP in the background while trying to appear disconnected with the party.

Given how AP’s current political situation is where no individual voice can thrive or open up, it seems like a nearly impossible situation that one can even think of Jagan’s own brother-in-law and sister planning their political entry, to compete with the sitting CM! As of now, all of this clearly looks like Anil is testing the pulse of various communities for the YSRCP!
