Viksit Bharat can be achieved only through youth’s energy and talent: President Murmu
President Droupadi Murmu on Wednesday said the vision of Viksit Bharat can be realised only through the energy, talent and commitment of India’s youth, calling on graduates to become innovators, responsible citizens and agents of inclusive national development. She was addressing the first convocation ceremony of the Central University of Andhra Pradesh in Ananthapuramu.
Asserting that India is moving confidently towards becoming a developed nation by 2047, the President said learning-oriented, resilient and innovative youth are among the country’s greatest national assets.
“By combining their knowledge with creativity, determination and a sense of responsibility, our youth can transform challenges into opportunities and contribute to building a more inclusive and prosperous India,” she said.
President Murmu Says Youth Are Key to Viksit Bharat
The President said whatever career path young people choose, they should pursue excellence with dedication and integrity.
She emphasised that the dream of Viksit Bharat by 2047 depends on a generation that is skilled, ethical, adaptable and committed to nation-building.
She reminded graduating students that they are entering a world undergoing rapid technological transformation.
Lifelong Learning and Emerging Technologies Are Essential
President Murmu said technological advancements are reshaping every sector and learning should not end with earning a degree.
“In such a rapidly changing world, learning cannot and should not end with acquiring a degree. The inclination to continuously adapt to emerging technologies will be one of your greatest strengths,” she said.
She encouraged students to embrace lifelong learning, innovation and the courage to explore new ideas to remain competitive in the future workforce.
Graduates Should Give Back to Society
The President said the students’ success was made possible not only by their hard work but also through the sacrifices of parents, the guidance of teachers and the support of society.
She urged graduates to contribute to society whether as entrepreneurs, scientists, public servants or philanthropists.
According to the President, education should become a powerful tool for empowering the underprivileged and creating inclusive growth across the country.
Ethics and Values Are the Foundation of Nation Building
President Murmu said values such as honesty, compassion, empathy and respect for nature are essential for holistic development.
She also praised the Central University of Andhra Pradesh for developing a long-term vision aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Expressing confidence in the university’s future, she said it would emerge as a centre of excellence and play a significant role in achieving the Viksit Bharat 2047 vision.
The convocation was attended by Andhra Pradesh Governor S. Abdul Nazeer, Human Resources Development Minister Nara Lokesh, Finance Minister Payyavula Kesav, and other dignitaries.
