116-Year-Old Devotee Gets VIP Darshan at Tirumala After Trekking Alipiri Footpath

A 116-year-old devotee Tirumala story has inspired devotees across the country after Navaneethamma from Tamil Nadu trekked the Alipiri footpath to reach the Sri Venkateswara Temple. Following widespread attention on social media, the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) arranged a special VIP break darshan for her and her family members.

116-Year-Old Devotee Receives VIP Darshan at Tirumala

Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) on Monday arranged a special VIP break ‘darshan’ for the 116-year-old Navaneethamma, who left many awestruck by trekking to Tirumala on foot.

TTD Chairman B.R. Naidu said the temple body organised the special darshan for the elderly devotee from Tamil Nadu and her family.

At Ranganayakula Mandapam, TTD Executive Officer Muddada Ravichandra had Vedic scholars perform Vedic blessings, draped her with a silk cloth and presented sacred prasadam.

He also paid obeisance to Navaneethamma and received her blessings.

The gesture recognised her extraordinary devotion and fulfilled her lifelong wish of offering prayers at the hill shrine.

Viral Alipiri Trek Wins Hearts Across Social Media

Navaneethamma’s grandson, Dikpati, thanked TTD and its Chairman for fulfilling his grandmother’s wish and enabling the entire family to have darshan.

TTD Chairman B.R. Naidu also thanked social media users who helped identify the elderly devotee and appreciated TTD Vigilance officials for their prompt response.

“This occasion of fulfilling the lifelong wish of a devotee has brought immense joy and satisfaction to all of us,” he said.

Her inspiring journey quickly went viral, with thousands praising her determination and unwavering faith.

Chandrababu Naidu Praises Elderly Devotee’s Faith

The centenarian completed the Alipiri footpath, which consists of nearly 3,550 steps through the Seshachalam Hills, before reaching Tirumala.

A video of her trek went viral on Saturday.

On Sunday, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu said he was awestruck by the 116-year-old woman who walked to Tirumala to worship Lord Sri Venkateswara.

The Chief Minister remarked that “age is truly just a number when it comes to pure devotion.”

Following the Chief Minister’s remarks, TTD Chairman B.R. Naidu announced that a special darshan would be arranged for Navaneethamma and her family.

TTD Vigilance officials later confirmed her identity, enabling the temple authorities to honour her remarkable act of devotion.
