After mutton marts, YSRCP leaders now eyeing seafood business in AP?

It looks like YSR Congress leaders and their ilk are leaving no stone unturned to ensure that they monopolise every small, medium and big businesses in the state of Andhra Pradesh.

From coming up with the idea of mutton marts to local liquor business, every small business may slowly collapse and put common people from doing any business in state with such interference from YSRCP leaders.

The latest idea floated by YSR Congress MP Mopidevi Venkataramana is on the leasing of fishing ponds to the government. There are rumours that GO-217 is dubious and is going to affect the livelihoods of several fishermen in the state, given the auctioning of fish tanks as the GO proposes.

While the Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy-led the government claims that it is freeing fishermen from middlemen and capitalists, many from the fishing community and seafood business believe it is an eyewash to take over the entire seafood business in the state.

Meanwhile, YSRCP MP said that only 27 fish tanks in Nellore district will be up for open auction as a pilot project and 30 per cent of the revenue earned through the auction will be credited to the concerned fishermen society. “The government will try and extend the project to other districts only after analyzing the results in Nellore,” he said.

While this step may look like the government is managing everything and will ensure there are no middlemen, it will be another complicated move which will ruin businesses in the state due to the nature of politics and corruption involved when political leaders get involved in private matters.

How all of this will monopolise control in Andhra Pradesh is something that citizens of the state are worried about. And, only time will tell!!
