Nikhil Siddhartha’s Swayambhu: Crew Stranded During Scary Forest Shoot

Director Bharat Krishnamachari, who has helmed the highly anticipated film Nikhil Siddhartha’s Swayambhu, has shared scary details regarding a recent production schedule. During an intensive shoot in the dense forests of Andhra Pradesh, the film’s crew faced a harrowing ordeal that left them isolated in the wilderness. These latest Swayambhu movie shooting updates highlight the extreme lengths the team is going to for cinematic authenticity.

Swayambhu Forest Shooting Incident: Crew Stranded for Days

The director shared that the live-action sequences of the film were shot in the forests of Maredumilli, near Rajahmundry, the same region where the forest sequences of the Allu Arjun-starrer Pushpa were filmed.

“We made a conscious effort to explore untouched locations where no shooting had taken place before,” Bharat Krishnamachari explained. “Reaching these spots was an adventure in itself. We had to travel by jeeps for nearly 2.5 hours just to get to the mountain tops.”

The Swayambhu forest shooting incident occurred when unexpected heavy rains hit the region. A significant part of the crew ended up stranded on the mountain without basic supplies for nearly two days. Interestingly, this production was among the first ever permitted to shoot in that pristine, untouched location.

Massive Sets and 180-Day Production Schedule

Earlier, the director gave a peek into the expansive universe of the film, detailing the logistics behind building three distinct, massive worlds. For Nikhil Siddhartha’s Swayambhu, the team leased 8 acres in Janwada, Hyderabad, to build a full-fledged historical village from scratch, a process that took over 45 days.

The most ambitious part of the production was the climax, shot over 80 days at Annapurna Studios. The team constructed two massive bridges, one of which was specifically designed to be destroyed during a high-octane action sequence. This bridge was 100 feet long and was filmed using advanced bluemat techniques to ensure a grand scale.

Swayambhu Release Date 2026 and Cast Details

Produced by Bhuvan and Shreekar of Pixel Studios, the film features Nikhil Siddhartha in a transformed avatar as a legendary warrior. The project has already generated massive buzz following its “Epic Teaser” launch earlier this year.

With a Swayambhu release date 2026 set for the summer season, the film is being mounted as a Pan-India spectacle. Alongside Nikhil, the movie stars Samyuktha and Nabha Natesh in pivotal roles, with music composed by the renowned Ravi Basrur.
