Telangana eco-tourism received a major boost after Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy directed officials to develop eco-tourism projects on forest department lands across Hyderabad and Bharat Future City, aiming to create international-standard tourism destinations while promoting sustainable urban development.
Telangana Eco-Tourism to Transform Hyderabad Forest Lands
Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Monday directed officials to develop eco-tourism on forest department lands within the Hyderabad core urban area limits.
He also wants forest lands within the limits of Bharat Future City to be developed as international-level tourism destinations.
He suggested developing these forest lands as eco-parks similar to the recently inaugurated Gurramguda Eco Park in Rangareddy district.
The initiative is expected to enhance green tourism, improve urban biodiversity and create new recreational spaces for residents and visitors.
Hyderabad Tourist Attractions to Get Major Upgrade
At a review meeting of the Tourism Department, the Chief Minister directed officials to expedite tourism development projects across the state.
He instructed officials to collaborate with the Tourism Department to develop eco-tourism on forest lands within Hyderabad’s core urban limits.
He said eco-tourism projects should be developed in an urban forest model within the limits of CURE, and special officers should be appointed to speed up implementation.
The Chief Minister also directed officials to:
- Develop Taramati Baradari into a more attractive tourist destination.
- Transform Durgam Cheruvu into a full-fledged tourism hub.
- Modernise Manjeera and Dilkhusha Guest Houses in Hyderabad.
These projects aim to strengthen Hyderabad’s tourism appeal while improving visitor infrastructure.
Vikarabad and Heritage Sites to Be Developed
CM Revanth Reddy asked officials to develop Vikarabad under the Tourism Hub Development Scheme, with special emphasis on the Sri Veerabhadraswami Temple.
He also ordered the formation of a temple management committee on the lines of Yadadri.
The Chief Minister further directed officials to develop heritage structures such as Puranapul into tourism destinations.
He suggested preparing plans to divert traffic through alternate routes if required to improve tourist access after redevelopment.
The heritage conservation plan is expected to boost cultural tourism while preserving Hyderabad’s historic landmarks.
Telangana Prepares for Global Investment Summit
Reviewing tourism investments, the Chief Minister directed officials to begin preparations for the Global Investment Summit, scheduled to be held in December.
He instructed officials to constitute high-level coordination committees involving multiple departments to ensure the summit’s success.
Chief Minister’s Advisor K. Ramakrishna Rao, Special Principal Secretary Jayesh Ranjan, Tourism Department Special Principal Secretary Vani Prasad, and other senior officials attended the meeting.
The summit is expected to attract fresh investments into Telangana’s tourism, hospitality and infrastructure sectors.
